2BC’s program for ensuring the safety and health of children, preschoolers, and youth.
The Purpose of the “Safe at Second” Program
This program is designed and maintained to secure the safety, health, and well-being of all preschoolers, children, and youth involved in 2BC Ministries. Every person seeking to work or serve with preschoolers, children, and youth must complete the “Safe at Second” program.
Requirements to Work or Serve with Children and Students
Every person wishing to work or serve in a 2BC ministry that involves preschoolers, children, or youth will be required to:
- Fill out a Volunteer Form for each specific ministry area in which you want to serve;
- Consent to undergo a background check and,
- Complete any required training or re-training related to the ministry area in which you want to serve.
Where are you interested in working or serving?
Worship Care is a vital ministry to families here at Second Baptist. We are pleased to welcome volunteers to serve in this ministry alongside some of our childcare staff. We ask that each family with children participating in Worship Care sign-up for rotation, and we welcome other church members to sign up to participate in the rotation as well! (Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to volunteer.)
Once you have signed up, we will send you our Safe at Second background check link to fill out online, our new policies and procedures to look over, and dates and times for some trauma-informed care training and first aid/safety training.

Worship Care
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Music Ministry at Second Baptist. Use this form to indicate what areas of music ministry interest you most, then a music staff member will reach out to you. We welcome church members of all ages to sign up to volunteer; students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to volunteer.
In many cases, Music Ministry volunteers work with children or students and must complete a background check before serving in these settings. If you indicate interest in volunteering with children’s or student music, we will send you our Safe at Second background check link to fill out online along with any policies and training requirements related to the Children’s/Student Ministry. Music Ministry Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for Student Ministries, a vital ministry to middle, high school, and college-aged students at Second Baptist Church. We maintain a solid base of volunteers who assist, teach, serve, chaperone, and build healthy relationships with students, but we’re constantly seeking new volunteers as well. Working with minors requires a special level of thoughtfulness, intentionality, and care, and we require a background check for all adults working with minors through church ministries.

Student Ministries Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for either the Wellness Center or Give & Go Sports, a vital ministry to children, adults, and families here at Second Baptist. As a volunteer, you will work alongside our Wellness Center and/or Give & Go Ministry staff. We welcome students in middle school up to adults to sign up to volunteer and serve.
If you have signed up for a ministry involving children or youth, we will send you our Safe at Second background check link to complete online along with any policies and training requirements related to the Wellness and Give & Go Ministry.
