Christmas Program and Book Drive

The Children’s Choir Ministry will present the musical Room for Christmas as part of our Christmas Program on Wednesday, December 18 at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary. This is a wonderful story of children taking over the production of their church’s Christmas pageant. There’s a bossy angel, wisecracking shepherds, unruly sheep, and more. You won’t want to miss how the children discover the true joy of Christmas while making room for what matters most during the season.

As a special mission project, which is part of the musical, we are collecting gently used or new children’s books that are appropriate for elementary-age children. These books will be donated to children and classroom teachers in Asheville, NC who were affected by Hurricane Helene. If you plan to purchase books, one specific request is for bilingual books (English/Spanish) as one of the schools has a large bilingual population. Also, as these books will be delivered in the new year, please do not include Christmas books.

During the musical, there is a time for the congregation to bring the books for donation to the front of the Sanctuary. If you are unable to attend the program, we will have a box in the hallway across from the Adult Choir room in which to place the donations from December 1 – 24.
